A dental emergency does not wait for a convenient time. It happens at dinner, on vacation, in the middle of a workday, or late at night. When it does, what you need is not an overwhelmed ER waiting room where no one can actually fix the problem. What you need is an experienced dentist with the right technology, the right training, and the ability to see you today.
At Summerlin Dental Solutions, Dr. Marianne Cohan has been treating dental emergencies in Las Vegas for more than 31 years. As a 19-time Best of Las Vegas award winner, she brings the highest level of clinical expertise, the most advanced diagnostic technology available in any private dental office in the region, and a team that patients consistently describe as the friendliest, most compassionate staff they have ever encountered at any healthcare facility.
O
ur office is located at 851 S. Rampart Blvd., Suite 230, in a Class A professional building in the heart of Summerlin. The space is modern, meticulously maintained, and equipped with the newest technology in dentistry, including AI-assisted radiology, 3D cone beam CT imaging, digital scanning, laser treatment systems, and CEREC same-day restoration capability. When you arrive with an emergency, every tool needed to diagnose and treat your condition is already in the room.
We
see one patient at a time. That means when you come in with an emergency, you are not competing with a waiting room full of other patients. Dr. Cohan and her entire clinical team are focused exclusively on you. No rushing, no distractions, and no shortcuts. We reserve time in the schedule every day specifically for urgent and emergency cases, and we make every effort to see emergency patients the same day they call.
Whethe
r you are dealing with a severe toothache, a knocked-out tooth, a broken crown, a dental abscess, or any other urgent dental condition, Summerlin Dental Solutions is the place to call first. We serve patients from across the Las Vegas valley, including Summerlin, Henderson, Spring Valley, Desert Shores, Rhodes Ranch, Centennial Hills, and beyond.
A Las Vegas hospital ER can manage your pain with medication and antibiotics, but they cannot perform the actual dental treatment you need. Here is what that means for you.
Emergency rooms do not have dental chairs, dental X-ray equipment, or dentists on staff. They will prescribe pain medication and antibiotics, send you home with a bill of $500 to $2,000, and tell you to see a dentist. The underlying problem remains untreated, and in many cases, the delay makes it worse.
At Summerlin Dental Solutions, Dr. Cohan can perform emergency extractions, root canals, crown repairs, fillings, abscess drainage, tooth reimplantation, and dental bonding for broken teeth, all on the same day you call.
Our AI-assisted radiology system analyzes your X-rays alongside Dr. Cohan’s expert eye, identifying fractures, infections, and pathology faster and more accurately than traditional methods alone. When minutes matter, technology makes the difference.
Dental emergencies are stressful enough without adding anxiety about the procedure itself. We offer sedation dentistry options, including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation, for every emergency procedure. You will be comfortable from start to finish.
Not all emergency dental care is created equal. Here is what sets our practice apart from every other option in the Las Vegas valley.
Dr. Marianne Cohan has treated thousands of dental emergencies over three decades of practice. From reimplanting knocked-out teeth to performing same-day root canals and emergency extractions, she has seen every scenario and knows exactly how to deliver the fastest path to relief. Her credentials include the AACD, AAFE, and AAID, and she has been voted Best Dentist in Las Vegas 19 times.
When you are in pain and scared, the last thing you need is a cold, clinical reception. Our team is consistently described by patients as the warmest, most caring dental staff they have ever met. From the moment you call to the moment you walk out pain-free, you will feel genuinely cared for. Read what patients say on our reviews page.
Our office is located in a Class A professional building at 851 S. Rampart Blvd. in Summerlin, with ample free parking and a spa-like interior that feels nothing like a traditional dental office. Inside, you will find the newest equipment in dentistry: AI radiology, 3D CBCT, TRIOS digital scanning, CEREC same-day milling, and soft-tissue and hard-tissue laser systems. Learn more about our advanced technology.
When you arrive for emergency care, you are the only patient in the office. Dr. Cohan, your hygienist, and the entire team are dedicated exclusively to your treatment. There is no waiting room full of patients, no switching between operatories, and no divided attention. Your emergency gets 100% of our focus from the moment you walk in.
No matter what your emergency requires, we can handle it right here. Fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, dental implants, bonding, abscess treatment, and even full-arch restoration are all performed in our office. You will never be told “we need to refer you somewhere else.”
Our office sits in the heart of Summerlin near Tivoli Village and Boca Park, easily accessible from the 215 Beltway and Rampart Boulevard. Whether you are coming from The Ridges, Downtown Summerlin, Spring Valley, the Strip, or anywhere in the valley, you can reach us quickly when every minute counts.

Pick up the tooth by the crown (the white part), never the root. Rinse it gently with water but do not scrub or remove any tissue. If possible, place the tooth back in the socket and hold it in place by biting on gauze. If that is not possible, keep the tooth in a cup of milk or your own saliva. Call us immediately. Time is critical: the best outcomes occur when the tooth is reimplanted within 30 to 60 minutes.
Rinse your mouth with warm salt water (one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of warm water). Take over-the-counter ibuprofen (Advil) for pain and inflammation. Do not place aspirin directly on the gum tissue, as this can cause a chemical burn. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek in 20-minute intervals. Call (702) 341-9160 to schedule a same-day appointment.
Save any fragments of the tooth if possible. Rinse your mouth gently with warm water. If there is bleeding, apply gauze with gentle pressure. Use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. Cover any sharp edges with dental wax or sugar-free gum to protect your tongue and cheeks. Call us right away for same-day repair.
If a crown comes off, try to slip it back over the tooth using a small amount of denture adhesive or toothpaste to hold it temporarily. Do not use household glue. If a filling falls out, place a small piece of sugar-free gum in the cavity to protect the exposed tooth. Contact our office for a same-day crown replacement or filling repair.
“My husband cracked a tooth on a Saturday afternoon and was in terrible pain. We called Summerlin Dental Solutions and Dr. Cohan saw him within two hours. The staff was incredibly kind, the office was beautiful and calming, and Dr. Cohan fixed the tooth with a same-day crown using some kind of milling machine right there in the office. We could not believe the level of care. We have been loyal patients ever since.”

Does Summerlin Dental Solutions offer same-day emergency appointments?+
Yes. Call (702) 341-9160 and tell us it is an emergency. We reserve time in the schedule for urgent cases and will make every effort to see you the same day. Dr. Cohan is always available for dental emergencies during office hours, and after-hours triage is available for established patients.
How much does emergency dental care cost in Las Vegas?+
Emergency exam and X-ray: $150 to $300. Treatment ranges from $200 for a simple filling to $800 to $1,500 for a root canal and crown, to $3,000 to $5,500 for an implant if the tooth cannot be saved. Most dental insurance covers emergency care at 50% to 80%. CareCredit 0% for 12 months is available. Visit our financing page for details.
Should I go to the ER or an emergency dentist?+
An emergency dentist almost always. Hospital ERs can manage pain with medication and treat infections with antibiotics, but they cannot perform root canals, reimplant teeth, place crowns, or fix broken restorations. You will leave with a prescription and a bill of $500 to $2,000, and you will still need a dentist. Calling Summerlin Dental Solutions first saves time, money, and unnecessary suffering.
What if I am terrified of the dentist and have an emergency?+
Sedation dentistry is available for every emergency procedure. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety, oral sedation for moderate anxiety, and IV sedation for patients who require deeper relaxation. Many patients who had avoided dentistry for years tell us our sedation protocols completely transformed their experience.
I knocked out a tooth. What should I do right now?+
Pick up the tooth by the crown only, never touch the root. Rinse it gently with water but do not scrub or remove any tissue. If possible, place it back in the socket and hold it in place by biting on gauze. If you cannot reinsert it, keep the tooth in a cup of milk or your own saliva. Call us immediately at (702) 341-9160. The best outcomes occur when the tooth is reimplanted within 30 to 60 minutes
.
Can you do a root canal the same day as my emergency visit?+
Yes. Dr. Cohan performs same-day root canal therapy for emergency patients when the situation calls for it. Our AI diagnostics and 3D CBCT imaging allow us to diagnose and plan the procedure quickly, and our one-patient-at-a-time model means there is no backlog of patients waiting. In many cases, a same-day CEREC crown can also be fabricated and placed during the same visit.
What technology do you use for emergency diagnosis?+
Our office features the most advanced diagnostic technology available in any private dental office in the region: AI-assisted radiology that analyzes X-rays in real time, 3D cone beam CT imaging for detailed views of fractures and infections, digital intraoral scanning, and high-resolution photography displayed on 55-inch monitors. This technology allows Dr. Cohan to identify the exact problem and begin treatment faster than traditional methods.
Do you accept dental insurance for emergency visits?+
We are a fee-for-service practice, which means we recommend the best treatment without insurance network limitations. However, we gladly submit claims to your insurance on your behalf, and most patients receive partial reimbursement. Most dental insurance covers emergency care at 50% to 80%. Our financial coordinator will provide a complimentary benefits analysis. Visit our financing page for full details.
What financing is available for emergency treatment?+
We partner with CareCredit (0% interest for 12 months) and Health First Financial, which has a near-100% approval rate. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We never want cost to delay emergency treatment that you need right now. Our team will walk you through every option before any treatment begins.
My child broke a tooth playing sports. Can you see children?+
Yes. Dr. Cohan treats patients of all ages, including children with sports-related dental injuries. We can repair chipped or broken teeth with dental bonding, reimplant knocked-out permanent teeth, and fabricate custom mouthguards to prevent future injuries. Call us immediately if your child has a dental injury. Faster treatment leads to better outcomes.
I have a swollen face and think I have an abscess. Is this dangerous?+
A dental abscess is a serious infection that can spread to surrounding tissues, the jawbone, and in rare cases, the bloodstream. Do not wait. Symptoms include facial swelling, throbbing pain, fever, and a foul taste in the mouth. Dr. Cohan can drain the abscess, prescribe appropriate antibiotics, and perform the necessary treatment (often a root canal or extraction) to eliminate the source of infection. Call (702) 341-9160 immediately.
Can a cracked tooth be saved?+
It depends on the severity of the crack. Using 3D CBCT imaging, Dr. Cohan can determine whether the crack extends into the root. Minor cracks can often be repaired with a porcelain crown. More severe vertical root fractures may require extraction followed by a dental implant. The key is to get an accurate diagnosis as quickly as possible, which is exactly what our advanced imaging provides.
What if my emergency happens after hours or on a weekend?+
For established patients, Dr. Cohan provides after-hours triage and can prescribe medications to manage pain or infection until you can be seen in the office. For new patients experiencing a dental emergency after hours, call our main number at (702) 341-9160 and follow the prompts for emergency instructions. We will schedule you first thing the next business day.
I broke a tooth on vacation in Las Vegas. Can you see visitors?+
Absolutely. We treat dental emergencies for visitors to Las Vegas as well as residents. Our new patient process is streamlined for emergency situations. We can provide same-day treatment and coordinate with your home dentist for any follow-up care needed after you return.
How do I know if my toothache is a real emergency?+
If the pain is severe and constant (not triggered only by hot/cold), if you have visible swelling in your face or gums, if you notice a pimple-like bump on your gum tissue, if you have a fever, or if the tooth is loose, these are signs of a genuine emergency that requires immediate attention. When in doubt, call us. Our team can help you determine the urgency over the phone.
What makes your office different from urgent care dental clinics?+
Urgent care dental clinics typically see high volumes of patients in a fast-paced, assembly-line environment. At Summerlin Dental Solutions, you are the only patient in the building. Dr. Cohan, a 19-time award-winning dentist with 31+ years of experience, personally treats every case using AI diagnostics, 3D imaging, and CEREC same-day technology. The quality of diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care is fundamentally different.
I take blood thinners. Is emergency dental treatment safe for me?+
Yes, with proper coordination. Dr. Cohan routinely treats patients on anticoagulant medications such as Eliquis, Xarelto, and warfarin. She will review your medical history, adjust protocols as needed, and communicate with your physician when indicated to ensure your safety throughout the procedure.
Can you replace a tooth that was knocked out and cannot be saved?+
Yes. If a tooth cannot be reimplanted, Dr. Cohan can plan a dental implant to permanently replace it. The implant looks, feels, and functions exactly like a natural tooth. In some cases, a temporary solution can be placed the same day while the implant site heals. For patients who have lost multiple teeth, All-on-4 full-arch restoration may be an option.
How do I prevent dental emergencies in the future?+
Regular preventive care visits are the best defense. Dr. Cohan’s AI-assisted diagnostic system catches problems at the earliest stage, long before they become emergencies. Wear a custom mouthguard during sports. Address gum disease early. Do not chew ice, hard candy, or popcorn kernels. And if you grind your teeth at night, ask about a custom occlusal guard.
How do I get started as a new patient?+
For an emergency, simply call (702) 341-9160 and tell us it is urgent. We will get you in as quickly as possible. For non-emergency new patients, you can request an appointment online or begin with a free virtual consultation from home.
