INVISALIGN TREATMENT AT YOUR SUMMERLIN DENTAL SOLUTIONS OFFICE

E-INVIS4-300x214

Wishing you could have an even straighter smile without the bulky wires and bands of traditional metal braces? Look no further. If you want a straight, beautiful smile no matter what stage of life you're in, a teenager or later in life you should have access to a pleasant and convenient method of doing it.

When it comes to teeth straightening, Invisalign®, the virtually undetectable modern approach to teeth straightening, is an amazing cosmetic dentistry option for teens and adults in Summerlin who want to straighten their teeth with as little disruption to their daily lives as possible.

More information can be found at Invisalign

One of the newest Dental technologies, like Invisalign, has transformed the way cosmetic dentistry is practiced, and Summerlin Dental Solutions is a popular place to go for this type of treatment. Doctor Marianne Cohan is a cosmetic dentist who provides expert consultations and cutting-edge dentistry services such as digital x-rays and laser dentistry to ensure that each and every appointment is as efficient and effective as possible. Contact us or make an appointment online today to find out if Invisalign teeth straightening in Summerlin is the correct choice for you.

What Is Invisalign and How Does It Work?

Invisalign is a revolutionary approach to teeth straightening that utilizes a series of clear plastic aligners that are custom-made for each patient. The aligners are made of a BPA-free material that is pleasant, smooth, and almost undetectable, and they are designed to fit tightly around your teeth. Treatment with Invisalign is designed to repair misaligned teeth by gradually shifting them into appropriate alignment over time, resulting in a more attractive smile at the conclusion of the treatment term.

Invisalign's Advantages and Disadvantages

Dental professionals use Invisalign to treat a variety of orthodontic difficulties. Invisalign can correct the following problems:

  • Teeth that are crooked
  • Teeth that are crowded
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Teeth that are missing or have gaps in them

What are the advantages of using Invisalign?

  • It is nearly undetectable, making it ideal for teenagers who are self-conscious about their appearance as well as adults who wish to maintain a professional image in the workplace.
  • In comparison to braces, custom aligners are smoother and more pleasant against the cheeks and tongue. Metal brackets can be annoying, but custom aligners feel smoother and more comfortable against the cheeks and tongue.
  • As compared to traditional braces, Invisalign allows for improved oral hygiene because brushing teeth with traditional braces can be difficult, which increases the possibility of germs and plaque development around the braces. Teeth are more susceptible to gum disease and tooth decay as a result of this. The ability to remove Invisalign aligners before eating or brushing the teeth makes it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.
  • Users of Invisalign do not have to refrain from eating hard and crunchy foods like almonds, pretzels, and apples while wearing the aligners. When wearing traditional braces, these foods should be avoided since they have the potential to cause the wires to snap. This implies that patients can get their teeth straightened without having to sacrifice their enjoyment of food.

Who is a Candidate for Invisalign treatment?

Generally speaking, individuals who seek straighter teeth but wish their cosmetic treatment to be inconspicuous, as well as those who have the discipline to wear the aligners throughout the treatment time on a consistent basis, are suitable candidates for Invisalign orthodontic treatment. Invisalign, on the other hand, is better suited for older teens and adults because their jaws have already reached their complete development.

Furthermore, adults are more likely than children to be committed to the program, which is essential for its success. When it comes to orthodontic concerns, Invisalign is effective. Making an appointment with our office is the most effective way to determine your eligibility. We can use a variety of digital images to examine your situation and determine whether Invisalign is the best treatment option for your needs.

Invisalign Treatment in Summerlin: How Does It Work?

Dr. Cohan, a cosmetic dentist in Summerlin, takes customized impressions of your teeth and digital photographs of your teeth, which are then sent to the Align facility for processing. A detailed virtual representation of your teeth is built at that location. If you are a good candidate, Dr. Cohan will analyze your virtual models and custom constructs a set of sturdy, transparent aligners to begin the teeth straightening process and improve your smile.

For the duration of the treatment, you will wear your custom-made aligners for 20-22 hours per day and will receive a new aligner every one to two weeks until the therapy is completed.

Invisalign vs. Braces: Which is better?

Both Invisalign and braces are efficient ways for straightening and aligning your teeth; however, the treatment processes are distinct, and the types of orthodontic disorders that they can fix are also distinct from one another. Let's have a look at their advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of Invisalign:

  • Virtually imperceptible
  • It is really comfortable to wear.
  • Dental hygiene has improved.

The disadvantages of Invisalign are as follows:

  • Self-discipline is required; while having removable trays seems easy, removing them too frequently will result in a prolonged treatment period. When your aligners are not worn all the time, the results may not be as effective as when your aligners are worn on a regular basis.

Why Invisalign is not appropriate for everyone  Invisalign is best suited for older teens and adults who have modest orthodontic issues.

Braces Advantages

Extremely effective - because braces are fastened, the forces applied to the teeth can be significantly higher. It ensures that the treatment is effective, no matter how difficult the case is.

The fact that braces cannot be removed indicates that some patients may have a shorter treatment time as a result of this restriction.

Braces have a few disadvantages:

In terms of looks, people who wear braces feel self-conscious about their appearance because the wires are so evident on their teeth.

  • Dental hygiene is a struggle when you have braces on since it is more difficult to keep your teeth clean. It becomes more difficult to brush and floss your teeth and neglecting to remove plaque accumulation can result in tooth decay, tooth discoloration, and gum disease.

Patients with braces are on a restricted diet in order to avoid the possibility of snapping any wires during the course of their treatment. It is necessary to avoid chewy sweets, gum, popcorn, chips, almonds, and other similar items.

Procedures for Invisalign treatment at the Summerlin Dental office

The first step in your Invisalign adventure is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Cohan. She will listen to your concerns about your smile, and she will recommend the finest solutions for achieving those concerns. At the initial visit, digital scans of your teeth are taken, and the digital scans are forwarded to the lab for use in virtual treatment planning. Dr. Cohan creates a personalized treatment plan for your new smile. Once your treatment has been approved, the lab will produce a series of aligners that will be used to gradually reposition your teeth into a more favorable position.

You will be required to wear your custom-made aligners for around 22-23 hours per day. We can employ virtual check-ins for progress checks in order to reduce the number of office visits while still keeping you on track. Dr. Cohan will be able to better monitor your therapy and ensure that everything is going according to plan as a result. Following the completion of your treatment, you will be provided with retainers that will help you keep your new position and avoid moving.

Frequently Asked Questions are included below.

Q: How often do I need to put my aligners on and take them off?

A: As a general rule, it is recommended that you wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day and only take them out to eat or brush and floss your teeth.

Q: How are the aligners created?

A: Following your decision to receive treatment in our Charlotte office, we will take impressions and photographs, which will be submitted to the Align lab for processing. There, Invisalign technology will scan the impressions into a computer and produce a series of aligners that will gradually shift your teeth into the ideal position over a period of one to two weeks.

Q: What is the cost of Invisalign?

A: The most important aspect in determining the price is the complexity of the movement. The typical cost is from $3,500 to $8,500 per hour.

Q: When it comes to teeth straightening, do insurance policies cover Invisalign® treatment?

A: The use of Invisalign should, in most cases, be covered to the same extent as traditional braces if a patient in our Summerlin Dental office is covered for orthodontic treatment. Most insurance plans that include orthodontics will reimburse you for a portion of your treatment costs up to a certain level.

Q: Will using Invisalign aligners have an effect on my ability to speak?

A: Some people's speech may be affected by clear aligners for a short period of time, and you may experience a little lisp for a day or two. However, when you become accustomed to wearing aligners in your mouth, any lisp that may have been produced by the aligners should be eliminated.

Q: Is it true that clear aligners are effective for teeth straightening?

A: Without a doubt! Invisalign has been used to treat more than 1.5 million patients with a wide range of dental issues during the past decade. Invisalign was created in collaboration with orthodontists and is now used in dental offices all over the world.

Invisalign for Teeth Straightening: Learn More About It !

Types of Dentures at Summerlin Dental Solutions To Get Your Summerlin Smiles

dentures

If you are interested in the types of Dentures and Denture Costs, this may help you find what you were looking for at Summerlin Dental Solutions.

Dentures have traditionally been a dental solution to restore a patient’s missing teeth. Today, you can benefit from modern dentures in order to restore the form, function, and aesthetics of your natural teeth. But what type of denture is right for you? In this article, we will discuss all of your denture options.

When your Summerlin dentist suggests that you need dentures, the first thing you want to know is what type of dentures will suit your needs best. And, of course, you need to know what the cost of your dentures will be.

Here’s a brief guide to help you understand the different types of dentures and their cost

Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED DENTURES?

If some of your teeth are missing in your mouth, you will probably need to see a dentist that makes dentures.

On your initial visit to your Summerlin dentist, you need to get a comprehensive exam. This diagnostic process is the first step to check your teeth, gums, and surrounding tissues.

If you have some of your teeth missing, you can discuss with your doctor if dentures are the suitable treatment for you.

DENTURES: THE FIRST SIGNS TO WATCH FOR

It is always essential to have a consultation with your dentist before you start a treatment plan.

However, some warning signs may predict you may need to wear dentures in the future.

These Signs May Include:

  • Missing teeth
  • Severe dental pain or toothache
  • Swollen/red gums
  • Loose teeth
  • Difficulty when chewing or biting

Q: IF I DO NEED DENTURES WHAT TYPE SHOULD I GET?

When you need dentures, the first thing you have to decide with your doctor is the type of dentures you want or need.

Basically, you need to know all about the types of dentures and cost.

Luckily, there have been lots of advances in modern dentistry in this field. Today, they can be digitally made at dental labs and fixed by dental implants. Digital manufacturing allows dentures to  perfectly fit your mouth without so many adjustments as in the past.

Here are the main types of dentures used in dentistry today:

A: FULL DENTURES  vs.  PARTIAL DENTURES

In broad terms, there are two main types of dentures:

B-300x218

A FULL DENTURE

They take up the whole upper or lower jaw to replace all your missing teeth. Full dentures are designed to replace all of a patients’ teeth at once. They are usually fixed or removable and made of acrylic.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used to replace some of your teeth, but not the entire set of upper or lower teeth.

They are made and designed to restore a part of your mouth.

Partial dentures can restore that part of your mouth that is making you feel so uncomfortable due to the lack of teeth and the impossibility to chew, bite or even smile properly.

REMOVABLE DENTURES vs. FIXED DENTURES

B1-300x208

Removable Dentures

They are generally complete dentures that replace your whole set of upper or lower teeth.

These are the types of traditional dentures you may picture inside a glass of water on your night table. Removable dentures need to be cleaned at night in water or with denture cleansers to avoid drying out.

As a patient, you may need some time to get used to your removable dentures, when speaking, chewing or smiling.

ADVANTAGES:

  • You can regain your Summerlin smile at a lower cost
  • You will be able to chew, speak and smile again
  • Easy to teeth clean at home
  • Easy to adapt, within 1 or 2 weeks.

DISADVANTAGES:

  • Removable dentures need daily teeth cleaning and removal
  • Removable dentures can bring along embarrassing situations if they come out unexpectedly
  • Nutrition can be affected due to difficulty to eat
  • Removable dentures that are not implant-fixed to the jaw can lead to bone loss.
D-300x221

Fixed Dentures

They are typically made on an acrylic base that resembles your natural gum tissue. They cover your jaw and the artificial teeth fit over your gums.

With the advance of implant treatments in dentistry, fixed dentures have become a solution to avoid the discomfort of removable dentures coming out of your mouth, or the use of adhesives to keep the denture in place. Fixed dentures can be fitted by implant support treatments such as  All-On-4®, or by a fixed implant reconstruction with dental crowns.

ADVANTAGES:

  • You forget about the discomfort of dentures coming out and embarrassing situations
  • They hold your jaw and bone structure, making your facial features remain in place
  • Fixed dentures restore your missing teeth in a safe and stable way
  • They improve your smile and enhance self-confidence as they look more natural

DISADVANTAGES:

  • The cost of fixed dentures is of course higher than that of removable dentures
  • You need to have implants placed to attach to your dentures permanently which means it is a surgical process
  • You need more office visits for maintenance and cleaning since this cannot be done at home.

CLOSE GAPS IN TEETH WITHOUT BRACES AT YOUR SUMMERLIN DENTAL OFFICE!

TEETH-WITH-SPACES-295x300

Gaps between teeth are a common cosmetic dentist concern that causes many of our patients at Summerlin Dental Solutions to feel self-conscious about their Summerlin smiles. For those who are hesitant to invest the time required for orthodontics, we at our Summerlin dental office suggest cosmetic teeth bonding or crowns, which can close most gaps between the teeth without the need for braces. For this procedure, our dentist utilizes state-of-the-art, composite resin material to artfully widen and reshape the teeth to reduce gaps. The tooth bonding material can be precisely matched to the exact shade of your teeth so that the enhancements blend seamlessly with your smile. Patients are generally very pleased with their cosmetic bonding results and often express a renewed sense of self-confidence after the procedure.

The cosmetic bonding process is quick, and pricing is relatively economical when compared with other options such as porcelain veneers, crowns or Invisalign®. However, the results of cosmetic bonding are not typically as resilient or long-lasting as those achieved with porcelain veneers or orthodontics. Bonding commonly has a lifespan of about five to ten years, depending on the materials used, maintenance, and other factors. Replacing existing tooth bonding that no longer has an optimal appearance is also a fairly simple, cost-effective process that can produce transformative results.

If you are considering cosmetic bonding to close the gap between your teeth, we encourage you to contact our Summerlin dental office and schedule a consultation with Dr. Cohan to explore your options. She will perform a full evaluation of your teeth and outline the various treatment plans she can use to improve your smile.

VENEERS OR BONDING AT THE BEST COSMETIC DENTIST SUMMERLIN

VENEERS OR BONDING?

AT THE BEST COSMETIC DENTIST SUMMERLIN

attractive smiling woman portrait on white background

When it comes to repairing aesthetic dental flaws, Summerlin cosmetic dentist Marianne Cohan, DDS has a wide range of treatments to help you achieve a more attractive, natural-looking smile. Cosmetic bonding and porcelain veneers are two of Summerlin Dental Solutions’ most adaptable solutions for treating tooth problems and perceived smile defects. While each of these treatments can hide severe dental stains, gaps between teeth, chipped/cracked teeth, worn/short teeth, and malformed teeth, each technique has its own set of advantages and drawbacks that patients should be aware of:

VENEERS IN PORCELAIN

At Summerlin Dental Solutions porcelain veneers are thin shells of high-quality ceramic material glued to the visible front surfaces of teeth to hide cosmetic flaws while also improving their appearance. Porcelain veneers are a long-lasting choice for Summerlin smile improvement due to their durability, stain resistance, and natural aesthetic features; nevertheless, veneers are often a bit more expensive than cosmetic bonding but well worth it. Porcelain veneers are unusual in that they may restore the look of mild to moderate tooth misalignment. Porcelain veneers are the finest option for delivering comprehensive, star-quality celebrity smile makeovers in the vast majority of cases giving you a true Summerlin Smile.

BONDING IN THE COSMETIC INDUSTRY

To hide aesthetic dental faults and restore/reshape teeth, cosmetic dental bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin material. To obtain the perfect end result, the resin is put onto the tooth, hardened using a curing light, and then molded and polished. While cosmetic bonding can address many of the same issues as porcelain veneers, the results are neither as pleasing to the eye or as long-lasting. Bonding is frequently recommended as a temporary remedy or for minor repairs for these reasons. Patients who want more dramatic changes to their smile but aren't ready to invest in porcelain veneers may find that more extensive cosmetic bonding is a more affordable dental option.

Do you want to learn more about how porcelain veneers or cosmetic bonding can help you achieve the smile of your dreams? Make an appointment with Summerlin Dental Solutions by calling our office today. During your appointment, your Summerlin dentist will listen to your concerns, examine your teeth, and create a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs.
